Welcome to the Tech Tip of the Month.
I am starting this newsletter to let everyone know what you can do to use your computer better than you are now and to share some information with my associates that I feel they will find useful.
You are receiving this because I know you personally and I feel you can benefit from the information I am including in this message.
Tech Tip No. 1
There is a key on most current keyboards with the shape of a waving window on it. This is referred to the Windows key. For most of us, this key normally sits unused. However, there are a number of things that can be done with this key in combination with other keys that make it very useful for normal, everyday activities.
For instance, I frequently open Windows Explorer windows and Run commands. These are accomplished with Win + E for the explorer windows and Win + R for the Run command dialog.
Try these out and see how they work and see how much they can improve your use of your computer over having to take the mouse and hit Start and then hunt around until you find the option to Run a command or open an Explorer window.
